Photomanipulators, I'd like a word with you.Hey. Now you know I love you guys, sometimes in a manner that borders on inappropriate...but I think it's time I were honest with you about your less-than-appealing habits. So here goes.
1.) OK, here's the one I always dread complaining about, so I'm going to couch it in a way that encourages rather than scolds: If you have the talent to make a really beautiful manipulation that features a pretty model who's been outlined in a pastel color and is standing in front of a beautiful blurred background and or/ a forrest, you probably have the talent to go farther. So go farther. Stretch. Do something different. Make something surreal. Make something whimsical. I admit that I'm guilty of enjoying these sorts of manips. Some of them are so pretty they transcend their cliched nature. And I know they'll get you a crazy amount of faves. (I bust my hump eschewing--mostly--this cliche so it kinda burns my butt that folks get rewarded with such adulation for this tripe.) But, still, enough. It's be
WHERE DID MY NEW PIECE GO?Well, it looked like it was going to go viral, then the moron who uploaded the stock model informed me that she did not have permission to upload the photo. I had to delete the piece. Beware of using photos from this account: http://angie-c23.deviantart.com Apparently she just steals photos.
How incredibly stupid do you have to be upload photos you don't have permission to use? I just spent hours making this piece. I'M LIVID. Um, stockers, you're not allowed to STEAL PHOTOS FROM PEOPLE. And now you've cost me time, sweat and toil FOR NOTHING.
Do you like money?A friend of mine needs a graphic made for his business. He wants a series of different sorts of buildings, with a description of his business written on one of the buildings as if its an old painted sign. This is the perfect job for the great manippers here at dA.
My friend is an awesome, non-creepy person and pays generously. If any of you reading this are interested in getting in touch with him and making a bit of money, please let me know. Feel free to respond here or note me.
Let's Celebrate my B-day with a Gorgeous FeatureI awoke to find many lovely birthday wishes in my inbox today. THANK YOU SO MUCH, everyone. Now, how about some pressies for YOU?

DD + Print Sales + Talking a Bit about My Process
I forgot to thank Miss Aeirmid for featuring my DD. Thank you, my dear. You made my day and my week!
For whatever reason, May was a blessed month for print sales! I sold one or more of the following:
I can haz fame and fortune nao?
A friend asked me to explain my process a bit more re:
Well, I got the idea from a couple of sources. 1.) The model. I think her messy/bruised appearance suggested a tussle. But instead of going dark, I thought it would be more fun and original to go humorous/whimsical. 2.) An incredible manipulation I saw awhile ago that featured a woman balancing on a telephone wire. I wanted to take that idea and do my own spin on it. So, there you have it: A very silly woman who picks fights with birds. And apparently loses. Hope this gives everybody a little more insight into how my manipulations come
Gah! Need help finding a piece of stock!Hi all!
Listen, I'm desperate. I found a couple of pieces of stock I loved a few days ago. Thought I had bookmarked or faved them, but it looks like I did not. STUPID! STUPID!
Anyway, if any of you have seen these pieces, please lemme know.
It's a couple angles of a really grand ivory-colored gown. The train is HUGE and it's almost round in shape. It's a transparent png or psd file and a recent upload, I believe. I've been scouring the resource galleries. Can't find it.
If you know what I'm talking about, I'd be forever grateful if you'd hook me up !
I Demand that You Pay for the Surgery to Reattachmy jaw. I finally got a chance to catch up. You all have been making such beautiful things...

Remember Me?Hi everybody. Been a minute, hasn't it? Well, it's hard to check in much when you're taking care of an 8-month-old baby. But it breaks my heart, because I hardly have a chance to make my art and ADMIRE yours.
It's interesting watching everyone evolve, get better. I swear I've seen so many of you go from artists with potential to just straight-up wunderkinds. Gosh, I hope you all keep making your gorgeous art. It inspires me more than you know.
I hope I get a moment to catch my breath and catch up on all your art.
Anyway, I was honored to have been asked to write an article for an issue Somerset Digital Studio (that'll be coming out in March). I hope you'll check it out.
Creating your own MangaIntroduction
You have a great story, a bunch of characters and you want to create a manga. However, where do you start? Do you have it Left->Right or Right->Left? How should you publish it (*note: some publishers may have additional requirements/restrictions)?
The process is pretty much the same for any graphic progression such as comics.
Luckily, there are a great number of tutorials to help you on your way.
A storyboard is a panel or series of panels which detail the sequence of significant events in a planned scene, i.e. a rough sketch coupled with some words to describe the actions in the scene.
At this point you'd need to have an idea of whether you are making a left->right or right->left manga.
Photoshop tutorial- PS basics 4I'm back with my journal tutorials for Photoshop. I didn't post any new journal tutorial in a while. Anyway, my previous tutorial you can check here. I'll describe some Photoshop basics for everyone who try to learn to use Photoshop. So in this article you'll find tutorials: Tilt-Shift, Customizing brush 2, Lens Flare, Mask Tool,.
If you wish to see images in full resolution then simply click on the images below (they are big 1920 x 1080 px). I used Photoshop CC here, so some things may be different in lower PS versions. But most of things may be the same in all PS versions. I'll make even more tutorials like this, so stay tuned. And if you like it, then you can fav this article. Thank you and enjoy. I hope it's helpful. More tutorials by me you can see in feature below.
PE: How to Scan and Adjust ImagesTutorial Time: How to scan and adjust images on Photoshop!
Hello everyone, welcome to this tutorial article of PE week!
well, you know, there is this youtube channel where there's lots of videos regaring tips, tricks and general advice for artists, and it is the best I've seen of the kind. But sadly, it is only in portuguese - hence why cinyu came up with the great idea of getting me to translate one of their videos!
I decided to pick up this one regarding scanning and adjusting images on photoshop, because that is one of the most basic, yet worst parts for many traditional artists. This tutorial is mostly for scanning black and white works, so it'll be more useful if you're working on manga/comic pages or inked art, but I hope it'll give you some ideas and help out in general on how scanning works.
I'll be translating the most important parts of the video, along with screenshots. Let's get started!
Things you'll need:
When It's HardHi folks! I realized in my most recent round of blogs that I've been a little quick to tell you all to put on your grown up panties, but this one is going to be a little different. Making art can be one of the most exhilarating things you'll ever do, but (and this is from personal experience also) 80% of the time you're going to fail. You'll spill your ink all over that glorious drawing. Oil from your hands will permanently stain only the portion of paper that was meant to remain a snowy white. Your computer's hard drive will crash or all your image files (all the WIPs especially) will get corrupted. You'll try something new and it just won't work out the way you envisioned. These things are the parts that aren't really spoken about enough, and so when they happen to us we assume that we're doing something terribly wrong. I'm here to tell you that we all go through these things and there's always a solution!
When you're not improving

How to render MMD videos like a pro!
The DeviantArt MMD community is notorious for its drama and mini-conflicts. It has also been the one in which I've encountered some of the rudest people on the Internet. However, I have also been rather fortunate in being able to become acquainted with some of the nicest, talented and knowledgeable people I've ever encountered anywhere. Many of these have graced my gallery with their visits, comments, encouragement and attentions. And a few, perhaps some of the most talented, have graciously given me access to hard to get models, exclusive previews of their MMD work and even insights into their methods of doing things.
Occasionally, I am gifted with real gems and this was the case when garmus1 dropped a note in my inbox the other night. Apart from the depth of knowledge that he gives into his methods, he's also given me permission to share that knowledge with the rest of the community.
Now, I know that some of you will have, after reading only

To depression, for creating days without endWake up to the realization that you've been awake
for seconds, minutes, hours.
You've been awake in this warm, dark room
and you don't know how long it's been
but now you're conscious
and it starts again--
the pain, strong and steady, in your chest.
You gain consciousness in this too warm morning
and your thoughts whir in endless loops
because it's either that or face the weight in your chest.
Light breaks though the window, soft and unwelcome
but you take it as a reluctant gift--
a new distraction from the feelings awake in your chest.
Awake, but not conscious.
So you think yourself in circles a little while longer
waiting for those quiet pains
(the constant reminder)
to gain consciousness.
