quality of my pieces. I upload them and they look...terrible. Grainy and washed out. Yet when I upload them to my official site, they look beautiful. What has happened to dA? Why is this happening?
Hi friends! Listen, I had a question...Have you noticed a difference in how many favorites and views your art gets these days? I noticed that starting a couple years ago--I think it was when they gave the site a major reno--my faves have dropped precipitously. I was never a MEGA-popular artist, but I was a little popular. Now I notice my art gets fewer and fewer views and likes. I got my ninth Daily Deviation the other day and I think 25 people faved it. Compare that to past DD's, where I received hundreds, even thousands of faves. It's weird. I have no idea what's going on. I don't know if the site has changed the way people interact with it that just doesn't benefit my art...or I've simply gotten a lot less popular.
The prize for both categories will be a year's subscription to dA and a print by me, using your winning entry, plus a feature in my journal of your art and/or stock. Plus any prizes that are offered up by my loverly dA friends.
When it comes to stock, I often find it's the little things, the odd things, the off-the-beaten path objects, places and faces that inspire me. I'm sharing the following features with you in the hope that it gets you to look at stock differently--know that inspiration can come from anywhere. It doesn't have to be a beautiful model in a beautiful dress or a dreamy seascape (although I love that stuff too).
Take a gander at these features and see where your imagination takes you.
To stockers I say this: keep snapping those pictures! Of anything--everything! Chances are if it strikes your fancy, it will strike someone else's too. Oh, and THANK YOU!!
The theme is metallic. Silver, gold, copper, platinum, and on and on and on. Think glittery, shiny textures. Sky's the limit as to where you go with that.
The Prizes:
FIRST PLACE: A year's sub, a month-long feature in my journal and a print commissioned by me by (if she's not too busy)
SECOND PLACE: A 3-month sub, a month-long feature in my journal and a print by
THIRD PLACE: A month-long sub, a month-long feature in my journal and the print of your choice from my gallery
PLEASE READ THE RULES IN MY JOURNAL BEFORE ANSWERING THIS OR ENTERING CONTEST. Please this article. Thanks!

BEST OF THE BEST CONTEST CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As I just told my friend privately... when I came up with the idea for this contest and I could see it was going to be a success, I was so happy. I thought...great way to meet new dAers, great way to get a little exposure, great way to discover amazing new artists...but my journal went kaput the SECOND the entries started coming in...and it has not stopped giving me hassles. Seeing as how journals are kind of necessary to the whole contest thing, it's completely sucked every last ounce of joy out of this. (The first day the issues came up, I was checking the jour
