Well, it looked like it was going to go viral, then the moron who uploaded the stock model informed me that she did not have permission to upload the photo. I had to delete the piece.

How incredibly stupid do you have to be upload photos you don't have permission to use? I just spent hours making this piece. I'M LIVID. Um, stockers, you're not allowed to STEAL PHOTOS FROM PEOPLE. And now you've cost me time, sweat and toil FOR NOTHING.

A friend of mine needs a graphic made for his business. He wants a series of different sorts of buildings, with a description of his business written on one of the buildings as if its an old painted sign. This is the perfect job for the great manippers here at dA.

DD + Print Sales + Talking a Bit about My Process

I forgot to thank Miss ^Aeirmid for featuring my DD. Thank you, my dear. You made my day and my week!

For whatever reason, May was a blessed month for print sales! I sold one or more of the following:

A friend asked me to explain my process a bit more re:

Well, I got the idea from a couple of sources. 1.) The model. I think her messy/bruised appearance suggested a tussle. But instead of going dark, I thought it would be more fun and original to go humorous/whimsical. 2.) An incredible manipulation I saw awhile ago that featured a woman balancing on a telephone wire. I wanted to take that idea and do my own spin on it. So, there you have it: A very silly woman who picks fights with birds. And apparently loses. Hope this gives everybody a little more insight into how my manipulations come together. Although I have a pretty manic, throw things to the wall and see what sticks approach, so each piece is different.

Hi all!

Listen, I'm desperate. I found a couple of pieces of stock I loved a few days ago. Thought I had bookmarked or faved them, but it looks like I did not. STUPID! STUPID!

Anyway, if any of you have seen these pieces, please lemme know.

It's a couple angles of a really grand ivory-colored gown. The train is HUGE and it's almost round in shape. It's a transparent png or psd file and a recent upload, I believe. I've been scouring the resource galleries. Can't find it.

If you know what I'm talking about, I'd be forever grateful if you'd hook me up !

Hi everybody. Been a minute, hasn't it? Well, it's hard to check in much when you're taking care of an 8-month-old baby. But it breaks my heart, because I hardly have a chance to make my art and ADMIRE yours.

It's interesting watching everyone evolve, get better. I swear I've seen so many of you go from artists with potential to just straight-up wunderkinds. Gosh, I hope you all keep making your gorgeous art. It inspires me more than you know.

I hope I get a moment to catch my breath and catch up on all your art.

Anyway, I was honored to have been asked to write an article for an issue Somerset Digital Studio (that'll be coming out in March). I hope you'll check it out.

Hey gang. After months and months and months of questions about how I make my cartoony ladies, I finally broke down, decided to try to make a buck or two, and wrote a tutorial about how I make stock models in to something more dramatic and painterly. If you're interested, here it is:

I hope that if you've had questions about how I do what I do, you'll partake. I know some people get a little pissy about paying for stuff, but the fact is that writing this tutorial took a buttload of work and I gave away a lot of secrets. I make so little money off my art, I thought it was time for that to change.

BTW, if you were one of the people who purchased my other tutorial, please pipe up: I will be giving this one to you FREE!!!!!

YAY!

For "The Flux Capacitor".

It was a great day.

I often feel as if--because I tend to (most of the time!) eschew the "glowy woman in the blurry forest/room" aesthetic--that so much of my stuff flies under the radar. I've come to grips with that, gotten used to it. But it doesn't make days like yesterday any less sweet.

I have proper, "professional" website now.

Butthurt much?

As a test or sorts, I offered up this cool, fun, illustrated, detailed tutorial for quick but impactful effects for photos and manipulations. The cost was 10$. NOT ONE PERSON has purchased it. So I think doing a big tut on how I manipulate the stock models is prolly not gonna happen, because the interest doesn't seem to be there, which is weird because I CONSTANTLY get asked how I do my manips. So, either the interest is not there (?) or...people just don't want to pay. Well, that's a bummer. 'Cuz I ain't gonna do it for free. Sorry you're butthurt I'm charging, but you've got money for tons of other things. You can cough up 10 bucks for a tut.

Hey, I won joint third in Magikstock's Fairy Tales contest. [link]

Nice, huh? Yet I'm conflicted. One of the other winners made an entry that reminds me an awful lot of mine, down to some pretty esoteric details. [link] I wouldn't think anything of it, except that this is the not the first time this particular person has...let's just say...done a variation on one of my pieces. I'm not quite sure what to do about this. I like to keep my existence here at dA pretty drama-free, so I'm thinking of doing nothing. I guess I would just request that if someone likes my stuff, please take inspiration, do a riff on it. But don't do almost an exact copy. That makes chubby kittens cry.
