Hey. I'm trying to fake HDR in Photoshop (so I don't have to download software or a plugin), using only one shot (as opposed to the supposedly necessary 3 or more.) I've got some decent approximations going, but I'm wondering if you all have any tips or tricks I should try. The most popular tutorial on the internet is poorly-written and obviously by someone who's first language is not English. I'd be worshipful of anyone who could chime in and point in me the right direction.

Very cool. I know there must be three photographs, underexposed, overexposed, and then normal exposure. But after that, I'm at a complete loss. lol

The amount was rather high, the radius had a higher value than the amount value and the threshold was at 0.
In the image I played around with the values were: Amount: 79% Radius: 33.6 pixels Threshold: 0 Levels
See if playing around with those values gets you your desired effect.
