I am entering this in a contest with the theme of "rebirth." Please check out contest deets here!: [link]

I finished reading "The Hunger Games" series last night. Began working on this before I was even done, because I was so inspired by the books. When I was invited the join the contest, I didn't feel moved by the theme of rebirth. By the time I began the third book (yeah, I read it in, like, 4 days...during every spare moment I got) I knew I had to do an homage to the many incarnations of Katniss Everdeen: Orphan (really, if you think about it), Pawn, Warrior, Symbol. She was so many things to so many people. With every awful thing that happened to her, she was reborn again and again.

In the picture, you can see the fire has already burned away part of her fancy "Games" garment to reveal the Mockingjay taking over.

I was terrifically moved by the books. I hope you all are moved by my piece.

I love the fire effect and the metal one, very realistic! The lights are a bit confusing, but the rest it's awesome! :O
